Date Difference Online
Loading tool...
Trying to manually count the days between two dates on a calendar is surprisingly difficult because of leap years and alternating month lengths. This calculator lets you select two dates and instantly see the exact mathematical gap broken down into days, weeks, and months.
Timestamp Mathematics
To ensure perfect accuracy, this tool doesn't "count" days. Instead, it leverages JavaScript to convert both of your selected dates into Unix timestamps (the exact number of milliseconds since January 1, 1970). It subtracts the two massive numbers to find the absolute difference, and then divides that result back into human-readable days. Because of this, leap years are automatically and flawlessly accounted for.
The Month Approximation
While "days" and "weeks" are exact, "months" are tricky because a month can be 28, 29, 30, or 31 days long. To solve this, the calculator uses the standard Gregorian calendar average of 30.44 days per month. This means the month output is a highly accurate decimal approximation rather than a flat integer.
Timezone Privacy
Calculations happen locally in your browser. The tool reads your device's local timezone clock to ensure the date boundaries align perfectly with where you physically are in the world.
