A few things worth knowing
- Pascal: The SI unit of pressure — one newton per square metre. Most scientific and engineering contexts use pascals or kilopascals
- Bar vs atmosphere: One bar is close to one atmosphere (1 atm = 1.01325 bar). Weather forecasts often use hPa (hectopascals), where 1013 hPa ≈ standard sea-level pressure
- PSI: Pounds per square inch — the standard unit for tyre pressure gauges and pneumatic tools in the US and UK
- Torr and mmHg: Historically used in vacuum measurement and blood pressure respectively; 1 torr ≈ 1 mmHg

How do I convert PSI to bar? Multiply PSI by 0.0689476. For example, 30 PSI ≈ 2.07 bar.
What is standard atmospheric pressure in common units? 1 atm = 101,325 Pa = 1.01325 bar = 14.696 PSI = 760 mmHg.
What's the difference between gauge pressure and absolute pressure? Gauge pressure is measured relative to atmospheric pressure (so 0 PSI gauge = normal air). Absolute pressure includes atmospheric pressure in the measurement. This tool converts absolute values.
