Every social platform has different image dimension requirements — a square profile picture for Instagram, a wide landscape banner for Twitter, a 9:16 vertical story for Facebook. Uploading the wrong size gets your image cropped in unpredictable ways. This tool resizes your photos to the exact pixel dimensions each platform expects.

How it works

You upload an image and select a preset (or enter custom dimensions). The tool resizes it in your browser using the Canvas API and lets you download the correctly sized result. Your image is never uploaded to a server.

How to use it

  1. Drop your image onto the upload area or click to browse
  2. Choose a platform preset — Instagram Post, Instagram Story, Twitter Header, LinkedIn Banner, Facebook Cover, YouTube Thumbnail, and others
  3. Preview the crop/resize result
  4. Click Download to save the resized image

Common presets

| Platform | Format | Dimensions | |---|---|---| | Instagram Post | Square | 1080 × 1080 px | | Instagram Story | Vertical | 1080 × 1920 px | | Twitter Header | Landscape | 1500 × 500 px | | LinkedIn Banner | Landscape | 1584 × 396 px | | Facebook Cover | Landscape | 820 × 312 px | | YouTube Thumbnail | Landscape | 1280 × 720 px |

A few things worth knowing

  • Aspect ratio: If your source image has a different aspect ratio than the target, the tool crops to fill rather than squishing — you can adjust the crop position before downloading
  • Quality: Output is exported as JPEG or PNG depending on the preset. For photos, JPEG is used; for images requiring transparency, PNG

FAQ

Will resizing reduce my image quality? Downscaling (making an image smaller) preserves quality well. Upscaling a small image to a larger size will produce a blurry result — start with the highest resolution source you have.

Do platform requirements change? Yes, occasionally. The presets in this tool follow current recommended dimensions but platforms do update their specs. Check the platform's official help pages if something looks off after posting.
