Upside Down Text Online

Flipped text is a simple visual trick for social media captions, usernames, or jokes — and it works because Unicode includes characters that resemble upside-down Latin letters. This tool flips your text using those Unicode equivalents.
How it works
The generator maps each standard Latin letter, digit, and common punctuation mark to its closest upside-down Unicode equivalent, then reverses the character order so the whole string reads correctly when rotated 180°. Everything runs client-side.
How to use it
- Type or paste your text
- The flipped version appears instantly
- Click copy and paste it wherever you want
Example
Hello World → plɹoM ollǝH
A few things worth knowing
- Not every character has an upside-down equivalent: Uncommon letters, accented characters, and most punctuation either don't have Unicode equivalents or use the nearest approximation. The result may look slightly off for complex text
- Only Latin characters flip: Non-Latin scripts (Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, etc.) are not mapped and pass through unchanged
- Screen reader accessibility: These are unusual Unicode characters. Screen readers may mispronounce them or skip them, so avoid this style for any text that needs to be accessible
FAQ
Can I flip text back to normal using this tool? Yes — paste the flipped text back in and it will reverse back to normal, since flipping twice returns to the original.
Does this work on Instagram and Twitter bios? Yes — any platform that accepts Unicode text will display the flipped characters correctly.
Why doesn't every letter look perfectly upside-down? Unicode only defines characters that exist for other reasons (mathematical symbols, IPA phonetic notation, etc.) that happen to look like inverted Latin letters. Some letters have no good equivalent and use an approximation.
